LIVIN' LA VIDA LUNA: raving into the new year at proper nye in san diego

Updated: 2 days ago

This New Year’s Eve, I found myself exactly where I needed to be—in my happy place surrounded by pulsating beats, radiant energy, and a community that speaks my love language: the language of music.

I rang in 2025 at Proper NYE in San Diego, a rave that brought together some of the most inspiring house and techno artists in my life at the moment, aka KASKADE, JOHN SUMMIT, CASSIAN, and LAYTON GIORDANI, just to name a few, and got to do it with some of my closest friends.

The night was an electric dreamscape. As the DJs played one epic track after another, I danced my booty off, and melted on the inside, and couldn’t help but lose myself in the deep connection i felt to the music and the glittering crowd of beautiful people all around me.

There’s magic in standing shoulder to shoulder with strangers, all of us caught up in the same rhythm, the same moment. All under the healing spell of the house and techno music that vibrates through our bodies and liberates us from all the cares in the world. That magic is intoxicating and I love to immerse myself in it.

Proper NYE wasn’t just a party; it was a celebration of everything I love most about the dance music scene. It reminded me why I do what I do—why I pour my heart and soul into creating songs that make people move, feel, and escape; the way we all did at Proper NYE.

Watching the DJs command the energy of the night with infectious music was inspiring, and it sparked so many ideas for my own creative projects. Inspiration was all around me and it was the perfect way to start the year.

As midnight struck and the sky lit up into cheers and fireworks over Petco Park, I took a second to reflect on how far I’ve come and thought about how to manifest the life and career of my dreams. It was in that moment that I knew for sure the dance music scene isn’t just my passion—it’s my home. It’s where I feel most alive, most inspired, and most my authentic-self.

To my fans, aka my Lucky Stars and Lunatics: thank you for being a part of this journey. Every song I write, every beat I play, and all that I create is for moments like these—moments where music takes over, and we’re free to be exactly who we are. Here’s to more art, more music, more connection, and more magic in 2025.

Let’s make it our year, baby!

Love,

Luna

P.S. I. hope you had a safe and wonderful holiday season!
